The Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament Wedding : Kathleen & Eliud : March 17, 2013

I had the pleasure of working with Erin from Magnolia Street Photography for my first wedding of 2013!  This gorgeous Saint Patrick's Day had the sweetest bride and groom.  We spent a few hours at Kathleen's house in Chevy Chase getting ready for the wedding then headed over to the most breathtaking church in DC.  The reception was at the cutest little restaurant I have ever seen where many heartfelt toasts were shared.  What a way to kick of 2013!! Here are my favorites from their day, enjoy!

Schooley Mill Park Engagement : Cody & Allison

I have known Allison for what seems like my entire life.  We attended the same church and she was friends with my sister, Emily.  Thru chatting about her engagement session and talking about her wedding I really got to know Alli and I absolutely love her.  She is such an incredible person.  She works at Target and is the type of person that if they see you off in the distance, they don't turn away, they come running down the isle just to say hi.  She is strong, beautiful and has a wonderful heart!  Cody, I hope you know how lucky you are to have her!  Cody is more quiet and reserved and I didn't really get to know him all that well until the wedding (that is another post)!

Alli and I met up at Starbucks to talk about their Engagement session and we had it all planned out.  We would take the pictures in the field where they got engaged, bring along her dog who was part of their engagement and then take a walk around the lake nearby.  It had rained and rained and rained and everything was a muddy mess, so the afternoon of the shoot we changed plans.  I knew that one of Cody and Allison's favorite things to do together is sit around a campfire and I talked my sweet parents into building us one at their house.  Before going to my parent's house for the campfire, we went to Schooley Mill Park.

Alli and Cody first met in church.  A group was discussing playing instruments and they both found out they play the bass.  The rest is history...

Not to take anything away from the post about Cody and Alli, but I have to give my mom a shout out.  My mom is hands down the sweetest woman in the world.  I asked my mom to borrow mugs.  I turn around and she is coming thru the field with a tray filled with hot chocolate, tea and snacks.  Later that night she actually made them hot dogs as well because in her words, "You can't have a bon fire without hot dogs!"

Allison & Cody were married on August 23.  I can't wait to share their gorgeous wedding with you soon!
