This is more a collection of photos rather than one photo. Sometimes a few photos tell a story better than just one!
I work for my Dad at an HVAC company called H&C, Inc. It was started by his Dad (my Pop-pop) over 44 years ago. Every year at work we have a company Christmas party where we eat really good Italian food everyone's kids run around and play together. This year my Dad and youngest brother disappeared. I found them in the back together in the sheet metal shop. My youngest brother is completely fascinated by everything in the shop. Every tool, every machine. My Pop-pop would be so proud. My youngest brother never got to meet my Pop-pop, but is oddly the most like him.
Since today is our office Christmas party, I thought it would be a good Friday to show my favorites from last year!

Silver Springs NY Barn : FAVORITE PHOTO FRIDAY : 16
This week's Favorite Photo Friday is a picture of one of my favorite barns! This barn is at my in-law's house in Silver Spring, NY. I took this while we were visiting them around Christmas last year. I have always loved barns and winter time, so combine the two and you have one awesome picture in my mind!

Thanksgiving : FAVORITE PHOTO FRIDAY : 15
I recently saw an article where they recommended telling your loved ones how you feel about them. They also recommended writing it so they can read it as many times as they want. With Thanksgiving being next week I decided to write a few letters thanking people. One of the letters went to my Uncle Paul. I think I will let a paragraph from the letter and these two photos take it from here...
"...We have friends and relatives that were shocked to hear you were not actually our grandfather but our great uncle. You made a huge effort to be there for us our entire life and I am so incredibly thankful for that. There isn’t a piano recital, school play, church play, birthday party or graduation that I can think back on and not see your face. You sacrificed so much of your time and your life so that us kids would know that we were loved and that someone was proud of us. Now that I’m older, I know you couldn’t have actually enjoyed all of the events but you came anyways and you came with a smile. Thank you for always being my cheerleader..."
Happy Thanksgiving! Take some time to tell people what they mean to you. I promise it will make your heart almost as happy as it will make theirs.

Angela M Marshall : FAVORITE PHOTO FRIDAY : 13
Today's Favorite Photo Friday is of my Mom-mom. I adore this photo of her. This was taken on Christmas Eve at my parent's house last year all bundled up and enjoying some coffee by the Christmas tree.
I love that she still wears jewelry and dresses up for every occasion. I love her wrinkles, her silver hair, her chipped nails and the way she holds her coffee cup. I'm so blessed to have her in my life. Love you so much Mom-Mom!

Basignani Winery : FAVORITE PHOTO FRIDAY : 12
Today's Favorite Photo Friday comes to you from Basignani Winery! My friend Lucy and I got to spend the day there together last fall. She had bought a groupon for wine tasting and so we took a picnic lunch up and got to catch up. It was a little chilly, but we had a blast!
Lucy and I met the first day of kindergarten at Bethel Christian Academy, which means we have now known each other for over 20 years. She was tall, blonde and was the youngest, I was short, had dark hair and the oldest; but we were the best of friends! All thru elementary school and middle school we were inseparable. We took piano lessons from the same teacher, showed cows in 4-H together, and shared a scary love for beanie babies. Some of my favorite childhood memories are with her. After middle school, we ended up at different high schools and kinda went our separate ways for a while, but of course always still kept in touch.
New friends are awesome, but nothing will ever beat a long time friend who knows every single secret of your life. Old friends remember who broke your heart in high school and they remember how you got in trouble during your 6th birthday party. Old friends have a way of being friends for life, no matter how many miles are in between.
Lucy, you were my first best friend and I'm so thankful to have you in my life. You helped make me the person I am today. I love you! :)
Have you ever twirled around in a leopard snuggie while in a vineyard?

The Elkridge Furnace Inn Wedding : Cody & Allison : August 23, 2013
Here is it!! The wedding post! I have no words for how excited I was for these two people!! These two are so in love and so adorable together. I'm so honored to have been there to capture these two amazing people promise to spend their lives together.
The day started out with me going to Allison's apartment to capture the girls getting ready and all of the fun details that go along with that!
Allison put together these adorable gift boxes for each of her bridesmaids. She put SO much time and thought into them. Everything in the box went along with the color scheme of the wedding, including jewelry and the survival bags!
I don't know if I have ever seen a bride so calm and collected on her wedding day. Allie was helping her girls fix their dresses before getting into hers!
During Cody & Allison's engagement session, Cody was quiet. I really got to see how big Cody's heart is during the few moments we took to do photos of him before the first look. I asked Cody if he was excited to see Allison. He got the biggest smile I have ever seen and said, "I just can't wait to see her. I KNOW she is going to look beautiful. MAN you should have seen her last night at rehearsal, she looked gorgeous in her purple dress and I can't even imagine what she will look like in a wedding dress."
When we arrived at The Elkridge Furnace Inn it had started sprinkling. Allison and Cody both wished to proceed with everything outside as planned, so we bustled her dress to keep it as dry as possible and headed outside for the first look.
After pictures with the girls, it was time for bridal party pictures. This was one of the most fun groups I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They were such troopers! The spitting rain turned into more of a steady rain, but not one person complained about it. Allison and Cody wanted bridal party pictures outside and their bridal party made it possible!
I met the ring bearer as soon as I got to the Inn that day. He was completely dressed and just waiting on the steps for everyone to get there. He is only 7 and was by far the best behaved 7 year old I have ever worked with. There was no adult that accompanied him to the photos. He did what we asked and that was that. He was awesome!!
This wedding reception was by far the most energetic and fun crowd I have ever photographed. Beat 2 Beat DJs did a FANTASTIC job keeping the crowd going the entire night. It was an absolute pleasure to work with them and I hope to have that pleasure again!

Melanie Atkins from Dakota Salon was there to do Allison's hair and makeup.
After a quick lunch break, we all headed over to The Elkridge Furnace Inn!
The bridal suite at The Elkridge Furnace Inn is gorgeous. I love that window and I LOVE her dress!!
